Doak Miramichi Hand Tied Tapered Leaders We began making these for our own use a few years ago after being disappointed with the various manufactured leaders of the day. When customers asked what leader we used, the next question would often be why don’t you have them for sale, so we had to start offering them. Along the way, we developed a unique method of tapering and trimming the blood-knots to make them less obtrusive, which is a frequent complaint with knotted leaders.
No chemicals, heat, lubricants or saliva are used in welding the knots, but we think you’ll be pleased with the results, no matter how we do it.
